The Hawaii Stars, in conjunction with the Hawaii County Department of Parks & Recreation, will conduct a free youth baseball clinic on Friday at the Victor Colt Field for boys and girls ages 7-12.

The Hawaii Stars, in conjunction with the Hawaii County Department of Parks & Recreation, will conduct a free youth baseball clinic on Friday at the Victor Colt Field for boys and girls ages 7-12.

Registration will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at Victor Stadium, with the clinic scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and run until 11 a.m.

All participants are asked to bring their gloves, bats, helmets, shoes and water bottles.

Stars notes: The Paradise Roller Girls will take part during today’s 1:35 p.m. game against the San Rafael Pacifics, helping in a Stars’ promotion. The Roller Girls will also be selling tickets for their upcoming roller derby event, scheduked Aug. 24 at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium vs. an Oahu team. …

According to Stars assistant general manager Karen Chaves, the Hawaii Stars will next take on the Eastbay Lumberjacks in a three-game series running Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at Wong Stadium. Single nine-inning games will be held the first two days, beginning at 5:35 p.m. The final game will start at 1:35 p.m. Saturday.

The Vallejo Admirals were originally slated to play in Hilo, in a six-game series from July 16-21. However, the Admirals were not able to make the trip and the Lumberjacks are replacing them for a three-game series.
